Mango tree in Harare
Travel tips: Car rentals in Zimbabwe

As promised, here is is picture of a mango tree in Harare the week of October 17, 2023. Like everything else in life, the fruits from the same tree grow at different paces.

Also as promised, the rains started right on October 15th across the country as heavy thunderous downpours. Roads have now been changed, many properties damaged and farmers now running into the fields to engage in traditional tilling methods.

This week’s travel tip is about private car rentals in Zimbabwe. Many companies are not listed on Google search engines, and those that are, may be significantly higher than you are used to. Start by asking locals of any companies the would recommend.

Many of them may require a cash deposit up front. For payment methods, international visa card payments are accepted by a few merchants. You may be able to pay some in advance via online banking systems such as paynow, directly into their account.

Unless it’s a privately listed company that a local has verified,we don’t recommend paying the full amount up front. As with all car rentals, ensure you do a complete inspection prior to pickup.
