He gave me a buddy tap, twice

As we concluded our interview with Dr. Tendai Murisa of the Sivio Insitutite and Africa Giving, I was talking to Stanley as we were preparing to pare down the interview and create final edits, and he said, “Dr.Murisa is a nice guy.” I asked him why he got that impression so quickly. We have met so many professionals together, and that was the first time he had used that phrase.

He further explained that it’s a “guy thing,” but I should have seen the indicators. There’s a thing called a buddy tap. A physical encouraging touch that Dr. Murisa extended to Stanley, not once, but twice, as we were taping. It happened during the outtakes when we were charting the way forward. It propelled the conversation further and created a warm level of comfort between these two otherwise strangers who had only met when the interview started.

What a way to get the media cycle for the conference started! Learning how men support and lift each other up in professional circles. This is what the Lion Hearts of Africa, Men’s Health Conference is about. Professional men getting together with the intention of creating a community, knowledge transfer and supporting one another in the SADC region.

If this doesn’t get you excited about attending or supporting the conference September 30 to October 2, in Botswana at Chobe National Park, then maybe watch this video with Dr. Tendai Murisa and Stanley Dhliwayo as they discuss the video and Africa Giving.

Don’t forget to subscribe to stay upto date with all the work we are doing here at You Deserve Grace. For more details on the conference and to register go to www.deservegrace.com/lionheartsofafrica
